Mieszko Stanisławski

Documentary photographer.

Born in 1982 in Bielsko-Biala, Poland.

During his teenage years, thanks to his father, he got interested in photography. While spending hours in a darkroom developing his prints and talking to more experienced friends, he learned the basics of photography.

In the same time he started to travel. In the beginning it was around Poland, than farther and farther away. The first bigger trip was hitchhiking to Spain. More than 7 000 km (4 500 miles), a lot of adventures, human stories, hundreds of pictures. It was then, when he got addicted to traveling and telling stories with his camera.
During his philosophical studies in Krakow (Poland) he traveled to more remote and interesting places and the main field of interest became people rather than places.

As of yet he has been in every country in Europe and outside the continent, like Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Morocco, Israel, Palestine.

After years of being a photographer his pictures have beed published in all major Polish magazines and newspapers and several foreing titles, like National Geographic Traveler, Courier International and others.

He is co-founder of the international collective of documentary photographers -
Babel Images.

Since 2007 he is a member of Reporter Photo Agency.

2009 BZWBK Press Foto – 1st prize for single picture in category “Civilization”.
